Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute, Thrissur, Kerala, India

The department was started in 1998 in the erstwhile Jubilee Mission Hospital. In 2003, when Jubilee Mission Medical College was formed, the department was merged with the Medical College. The Department subsequently moved into the state-of-art Jubilee Hridhayalaya in 2010. Presently the Department has all modern facilities. This includes:-

Four Echo Colour Doppler machines with 3D and TEE facility
Two treadmill machines
Two twenty four hour Ambulatory Holter Monitors
Twenty four hour BP recording.

We have a state of the art Catheterisation Laboratory where Angioplasties, Valvuloplasty, Pacemaker Implementation, ICD & CRT procedure are all done on a routine basis. Our 20 bed ICU is also having all modern facilities including Ventilator and Dialysis machines. The department was recognized by MCI for starting DM Cardiology course 3 years ago. Our Surgical Colleague does all open heart procedures like

Correction of Congenital Heart Diseases
Aortic Surgeries
Peripheral Vascular Surgeries
Lung Surgeries

VISION

The second Cardiac Cath Lab and second Surgical Theatre are likely to open shortly.
An Electrophysiology Lab and Paediatric Cardiology Interventions are also our future plan.
With the enormous patient load that we have, we also plan to start various research projects. With our DM Cardiology course in full swing, we plan to have a lot of research activities in various fields of cardiology.
